SoFplus 1.4 - client version (updated on 2006-12-30)

The SoFplus client adds functions to your SoF which will enable you to make more advanced scripts and other things. SoFplus comes with a few of these scripts/menus. For example: change your name with color/special characters in game.

If you're having trouble with the violence lock (connection refused / violence settings are incompatible), SoFplus will fix that for you too.

Download the client version: SoFplus 1.4T9.

The client pak file has been updated and the vote menu has been added.

SoFplus 1.4 - dedicated server version (updated on 2010-05-09)

Some people have been exploiting an old bug that allows them to discover information about the the server, including the RCON password. Two work-arounds exist:

  1. Install SoFplus 1.4T11 on your server. Note that version 1.4T11 had been replaced by version 1.4t12 (which was just 1.4t10 with a different version number), because some people were having trouble with it. Version 1.4t12 does not have the fix that blocks this exploit.
  2. Method 2 will not be disclosed at this time, because it reveals information about how the exploit works.

You should change your RCON password as soon as possible. Check your logs and report abuse to your GSP, the abusers ISP, the authorities and the FSM.

You can download the dedicated server version: SoFplus 1.4T12 (and optionally updated cvar checks (2011-02-04)). You may want to look at the installation instructions / changelog first.

If the GUID column contains something else than '00000000', the player is using WAX.

WAX servers in ASE

To add a WAX server filter in ASE:

An alternative way to add a filter is to edit the filter.txt file in the ASE directory. This looks just like the Haxorcist filter, but the changes will be lost when upgrading ASE.
Add the following text to filter.txt: 


Soldier of Fortune\WAX
Group: SOFWAX
1 if version != "*[WAX]*" remove
